Ended Gran Turismo Sport online services; offline modes stay playable

Online services for the PS4 game Gran Turismo Sport, including Sport Mode, lobbies and custom liveries, ended on 31 January 2024, and add-on sales stopped on 1 December 2023. The company said the offline parts of the game, including purchased add-ons, remain playable.

  2. Monetisation

Gave Gran Turismo 7 players free credits after criticism of its in-game economy

After criticism of the game's microtransactions and of an update that lengthened the grind for in-game credits, Polyphony Digital gave players one million in-game credits and announced updates to increase race rewards, raise the wallet limit and let players sell cars.

  3. Other

Gran Turismo 7 career mode was unplayable during a 30-hour server outage

A faulty update led to a server outage of about 30 hours; because Gran Turismo 7 requires an online connection for most modes, its career mode and multiplayer could not be played. Polyphony Digital apologised and restored service with update 1.08.
